The Reading Department is led by Rachel Dahl. A reading specialist since 2008, Dahl is a dynamic and passionate advocate for authentic reading and writing experiences for children. Her experiences as a dual language classroom teacher in Phoenix shaped her commitment and dedication to honoring children’s native languages in schools. Working in education for over twenty years has solidified her belief in the transformational role literacy plays in children’s lives.

Dahl holds a degree from Denison University in Educational Studies and Spanish and a Master of Education in Reading from California State University, Los Angeles.
